She pitched three times in the final week of the season, posting a 0-0 record with a 3.00 ERA a three-game stretch against Manhattan, Stony Brook, and Rhode Island. She picked up a  win in the Rhode Island game, pitching three innings and allowing just two hits and one earned run. Gilbert pitched in six games during the regular season, the last three of which Fairfield won by a combined 22-7 margin. She started one game during the campaign, taking a loss against Valaparaiso. She earned one of the team's four saves in a 2-1 win over Manhattan.

2007 Season
Gilbert joined the pitching rotation in her freshman year, posting a 4-6 overall record with 29 strikeouts in 59.2 innings pitched. She won four of her last five decisions, beginning with a six-plus inning effort against Columbia. She also posted a complete-game shutout against Georgetown, scattering four hits fanning six batters. Gilbert earned her first MAAC victory in the regular-season finale in relief, yielding two earned runs in four innings of work. The righthander started 12 of her 19 appearances, including eight of the final 11 appearances. She fanned four or more batters three times, including a career-high six against Georgetown. She just missed that total with five strikeouts against Rhode Island.

Before Fairfield
Gilbert entered the program after a successful career at Dighton-Rehoboth High School, where she helped the softball team garner the state championship in 2006. She plans to study nursing while attending Fairfield.
