Before Fairfield:
Wigand played soccer and softball at Oceanside High School, where she was a four year starter for both sports. As a senior, Wigand led her high school team to the 2008 Nassau County championship. She brings athleticism, strength, and versatility to the infield and should vie for playing time immediately. Wigand was a member of both the Foreign Language and National Honor Society at Oceanside High School. She spent the time as a member of the Long Island Fire & Ice Storm ASA team and was a former Fairfield Softball Camp MVP. She has not declared a major.
