FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Kayla Marth (Easton, Md.) earned the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week award for her performance last week as the team finished a 10-game trip to Orlando.

Marth led all Fairfield hitters with five RBI in six games last week during the team's Florida trip. She drove home one base runner in four games and at least one hit in five contests during the six-game run. Marth also played well defensively, registering 14 putouts with seven assists in six appearances.

The Fairfield University softball team, under head coach Julie Brzezinski, owns a 5-10 overall record through the first two weeks of the season. The Stags return to action this weekend when they travel to South Carolina for the Winthrop Invitational Tournament.
