
Softball Ends FGCU Tournament With Loss To 13th-Ranked DePaul University

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Meghan Borst recorded an RBI double in the fourth inning, one of four hits by the team, as the Stags softball team dropped a 19-2 decision to 13th-ranked DePaul University.
Dani Griswold, Jenna DiBernardo, and Jessica Stand also registered a hit in the five-inning game. DePaul scored 14 runs in the second inning with 11 hits and three Fairfield errors. The Stags scored both of its runs in the fourth frame, as Borst laced a double that scored Kristina Lingo from first base. Borst eventually came home off a ground out by Allie Rittaco.
DePaul pitcher Lindsey Dean went the distance by scattering four hits and fanning four batters. Sarah Minice took the loss after allowing 11 runs through two innings of work. Meghan Borst finished up the game in the pitching circle.
