Susan Starr is now in her second season as a member of the Fairfield University women's soccer coaching staff. Serving as an assistant coach, Starr is primarily responsible for training the goal keepers, as well as assisting in day-to-day operations of the program.
Starr comes to Fairfield after earning four varsity letters for the Yale University women's soccer team. Over the course of her career she played in 52 games, notching 23 career wins. Starr posted a career GAA of 0.97, ranking second in Yale history, as well as having notched 148 saves and four shutouts. As a senior she led the Ivy League with a .867 save percentage and was second in GAA at 0.71, picking up nine wins. The NSCAA and SoccerBuzz.com named Starr Third Team All-Northeast Region, as well as being selected First Team All-Ivy League. She earned a degree in political science from Yale.
A native of Fairfield, Conn., Starr was twice named an All-America while at Fairfield High School. As a senior she was a state finalist for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award and was named the Connecticut Post Athlete of the Year as a junior.
Starr is working towards her MBA in finance/international
business while coaching at Fairfield. She is in the midst of
a multi-year internship at Rabobank International in New York City
doing mergers and acquisitions in ibanking. This coming fall
she will be coaching the CFC U11 Arsenal as well.
