Westenberg brings a great deal of international experience with
her, including time with both high school and club teams. She was a
member of the Maeriant Lyceum field hockey team. In 2006, her team
captured The Hague regional high school tournament title. In the
Shell hockey tournament (District), the team qualified for the
national tournament several times during her career. With the high
school team, Westenberg played outside right and left as well as
right center. She ranked among the team's leading scorers for both
goals and assists. Westenberg also played with the Hockey Club
Klein Zwitserland (HCKZ), a prominent club in The Hague. She worked
her way through the different levels of the program, which includes
more than 1,500 members. After working her way through the B
levels, Westenberg currently plays for the A1 team in national
competition, the top hockey level in The Netherlands. Throughout
her career with HCKZ, she has played against international
competition which includes opponents from Germany and England.
