2007 Season:  Utz played in one game last season, gaining 15 minutes of work in goal against William & Mary. The goaltender surrendered a pair of goals in the 5-0 setback, and made a pair of saves. She will challenge for a starting job in the Fairfield net this season.

Before Fairfield:  Utz has competed on the national level for most of her field hockey career, which includes time at the National Futures Tournament as well as Junior Olympics. She participated in the Futures program for three years, and in Junior Olympics for two years. She was the starting varsity goaltender at Cherokee High School, where she captured the school's Most Outstanding Athlete award in 2004. She earned All-Conference honors and was an All-South Jersey selection. In her senior season, she tallied 164 saves and owned a .790 save percentage with eight shutouts. Utz was a four-year honor roll student athlete. In addition, Utz competed with the high school swim and lacrosse teams. She remains active within her community sports programs, serving as a Futures Regional Tournament junior umpire.
