Adams Named Second Team All-ECAC Lacrosse

May 5, 2009

Fairfield University men's lacrosse freshman Brent Adams (Norwalk, Conn.) was selected to the ECAC Lacrosse League Second Team as voted by the league's head coaches and announced on Tuesday by the conference office.  Adams becomes the Stags second All-ECAC Second Team selection in its four seasons in the league.

Adams earned the award after leading the Stags offense during his rookie campaign, scoring at least one point in all 13 games.  He tallied a team-high 27 points for the year, including a team-best 11 assists.  The midfielder scored multiple points in seven games, with four points coming in games against Colgate and Vermont.  Adams had 21 ground balls and six caused turnovers for the season as well.

The Norwalk High School graduate began his collegiate career with a two-goal, one-assist effort in the upset season opening win over Delaware.  He netted at least one goal in each of the first four games, culminating with a two-goal, two-assist effort at home versus Colgate.  Adams had his first career hat trick against Vermont, while also notching an assist.  In that game, as well as the season opener, he picked up a career-high four ground balls.  Adams finished the year with a two-goal effort in the win over St. John's.

Adams played a large part in the Stags first winning season, 7-6, since the 2005 campaign.  He helped lead the Stags to a 4-3 record in the ECAC Lacrosse League, good for third place, the top finish in the program's four seasons in the league.
