
Men's Lacrosse Heads To Ohio State For Noon Saturday Face-Off

The Fairfield University men's lacrosse team will travel to Columbus, Ohio for a noon Saturday showdown with The Ohio State University. Fairfield enters the game at 1-0, while the Buckeyes are 2-1.
Both teams have begun to receive recognition in the national polls, with the Stags earning votes in both the Nike/Inside Lacrosse and USILA Coaches poll. The Buckeyes are tied for 16th in the Inside Lacrosse poll and are 18th in the coaches poll. Additionally, Fairfield moved up two spots in the NEILA poll to sixth this week.
Fairfield opened its season with a thrilling 10-9 win at home over Delaware on Feb. 21. Charlie Cipriano made 14 saves for the Stags to earn the win and was named the ECAC Lacrosse League Defensive Player of the Week. Nick Baglio tallied three goals, including the game winner, while Brent Adams and Chris Ajemian both had a pair of goals and an assist.
Fairfield and Ohio State are meeting for the seventh time in men's lacrosse, with Ohio State winning four of the contests. The last meeting came in 2005, with the Stags earning a 14-10 win on their Great West Lacrosse League conference crown.
The game will be played indoors at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, which has a capacity of 700 fans. Ohio State is encouraging fans to prepurcahse tickets, as they are expected to be sold out before gameday. Adult tickets are $5 and student/youth tickets are $3. Tickets are available online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com (click on TICKETS), through Ticketmaster by phone at 800-745-3000, in person at any Ticketmaster outlet or at the Ohio State ticket office in the southeast corner of the Schottenstein Center. Tickets, subject to availability, also can be purchased at the gate on game day starting one and a half hours prior to faceoff (cash only).
