Men's Lacrosse Tabbed Sixth In ECAC Preseason Poll

The Fairfield University men's lacrosse team was tabbed sixth in the ECAC Lacrosse League preseason poll.  Fairfield is entering its fourth season as a member of the league.

The Stags received 14 points in the poll of the league's eight head coaches.  Georgetown, which received five first place votes, was chosen as the front runner in the league, with 47 points.  The defending league champion Loyola, was next, with three first place votes and 43 points.  Penn State and Rutgers both earned 33 votes in the poll to tie for third, while Massachusetts received 29 points for fifth.  The Stags were followed by Hobart, 13 points, and St. John's, 12 points.

First-year head coach Andrew Copelan and the Stags will open the 2009 season at home on Feb. 21, versus Delaware.
