2007-08
Evanovich enjoyed one of the best debuts in school
history when he tallied 20 points in the season opener against Wake
Forest. He netted six of seven shots from the floor and made all
five three-point attempts. He also added five steals and three
assists in his 25 minutes of work. He would equal that point total
one more time, hitting the mark by making seven of 11 field goals
(6 of 8 three pointers) at Loyola. Nearly two-thirds of his field
goals came from behind the three-point line (50 of 76 field goals).
Seven of his nine double-digit scoring games were against
conference opponents. Evanovich scored in his first 29 games as a
Stag, but saw the streak end in the MAAC tournament when he went
scoreless versus Loyola. He tallied more assists (38) than
turnovers (34) during the season. The forward came off the bench in
the first nine games of the season and the last six contests of the
campaign. In between, he started 14 of 15 games, coming off the
bench at Marist during that stretch. He was one of the team's top
free throw shooters, making 83.3 percent of his attempts (25 of 30)
and hitting 19 of his first 22 charity tosses.
2006-07

He came to Fairfield after spending time at Iowa State University.
Before
Fairfield
Evanovich appeared in eight games at Iowa State
University during the 2005-06 season, averaging nearly three
minutes per outing. He tallied five points and three rebounds while
in the lineup, and scored in three of his eight appearances. He had
two-point efforts against Howard and Missouri, and secured a
season-high two rebounds and played a personal-best nine minutes
against Howard. Evanovich spent one season at South Kent Prep where
he helped the team post a 32-9 record, averaging 9.8 points and 3.8
rebounds per game. He attended E.O. Smith High School, where he
earned All-State honorable mention honors from the Hartford
Courant. As a junior, Evanovich averaged 15.1 points and 5.6
rebounds per game. He was a three-time All-Conference player and
earned two berths to the All-State squad. The forward earned the
conference player of the year award as a junior and as a senior. He
capped his career by receiving a nomination to the prestigious
McDonald's All-America team. His individual success also helped his
team earn success on the court. He led E.O. Smith to two conference
championships, and helped South Kent Prep reach the NEPSAC Division
A championship game.
