Antonio Reynolds-Dean Accepts Assistant Coaching Position At Northeastern University

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Antonio Reynolds-Dean accepted an assistant coaching position with the Northeastern University men's basketball program, after spending the previous season as the director of basketball operations at Fairfield University under head coach Ed Cooley.

Reynolds-Dean played at the University of Rhode Island from 1995-99 for head coach Al Skinner, where Cooley and current Northeastern head coach Bill Coen served as assistants under Skinner.

At Rhode Island, Reynolds Dean was named the 1995-96 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year after averaging 12.1 points per game. He followed up his first-year performance by earning a spot on the conference's All-Defensive Team. He finished his career with 1,576 points and placed second all-time in career blocks (235) and third all-time in career rebounds (1,028) at Rhode Island.

He spent one season with the Dakota Wizards where he was named the IBA Rookie of the Year in 1999-2000, and led the league with a 12.2 rebounding average. Reynolds Dean played seven seasons in the European League where he was the League's All-Star Most Valuable Player in 2001-02. He played in Argentina in 2007-08, placing second in the league for rebounding. He was the team leader for scoring, rebounds, and blocks during the year.

He graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a bachelor's degree in human development and family studies with a minor in African American Studies.
