Letter From The AD

Dear Friends,

"It's not bragging if it's true". That's axiom that used very often in the world of athletics.  At   Fairfield University, while we are not ones to brag, we are certainly very proud of the past accomplishments and look forward to what we know will be equally rewarding future accomplishments by our very talented student-athletes.

Being here with them every day, we are very aware of all they do.  Because of our pride, we are always looking for new and better ways to communicate the successes of our student-athletes. Today, we launch the first edition of the "Stags Sports Report", an e-newsletter that will be published from September to May.  It will offer subscribers unique content that will not be immediately available on our athletic website. The newsletter will include feature stories about our student-athletes that epitomize all facets of their Jesuit experience at Fairfield University. It will trumpet the triumphs of our program, which we hope will include a successful defense of our Commissioner's Cup title in 2009-10.

Not ones to rest on their laurels, our fall sports are determined to give our entire program a strong start to athletic year. It was they who set the bar last year with two Conference titles.  Our teams are in the middle of conference play after playing a daunting non-conference schedule. All of our fall sports teams played at least one nationally-ranked team during the month of September, a tactic which our coaches believe prepare our student-athletes for the grind of their conference seasons.  As the leaves turn we are preparing for fall championships.

We hope you enjoy this inaugural issue. And, we invite you to pass it along to your fellow alumni, family, and friends. By opting to receive it, you will have the opportunity to be "in the know" and be able to "brag" about all that is being accomplished by our young men and women.
